FLiPM (Future Leaders in Project Management) and the Peter Paul Development Center Join Rx Partnership and Family Lifeline as Partner Organizations
Impact Makers selected two new community partners in December 2013: FLiPM® (Future Leaders in Project Management) and the Peter Paul Development Center. These organizations join Rx Partnership and Family Lifeline in receiving all profits from Impact Makers, a management and technology consulting firm.
“The growth of Impact Makers means that the underlying mission of the company – to make a tangible impact within the communities where we work – can continue to grow as well,” said Josh Dare, a member of Impact Makers’ board, chair of the partner committee, and principal for Richmond-based PR firm Hodges Partnership. “We are pleased and excited to welcome two new community partners in 2014, nonprofit organizations that are doing extraordinary work in helping people help themselves.”
FLiPM is a non-profit collaborative partnership of educators, project management professionals, and business owners. It was founded in 2012 with the mission to provide exemplary project management training integrated into existing Career and Technical Education courses. This training provides marketable hard and soft skills needed in over 100 diverse industries and leads to a globally recognized industry certification necessary to participate in a competitive job market. By bringing workplace practitioners into the classroom, FLiPM curricula adds rigor, relevance and real-world examples to give students those marketable skills needed and a unique insight into the project management career path.
Jennifer Romero-Greene, FLiPM President says “The partnership with Impact Makers will enable us to expand to other schools and states. Because of their socially conscious business model, they provide a perfect example for other organizations to actively participate in a win-win solution for our youth. Impact Makers offers financial support for the certification exams and offers project management professionals as resources to deliver FLiPM curricula to the classroom. They engage with the students and give them H.O.P.E. for a future. By Helping Others Prepare for Excellence. they are definitely making an impact!”
The mission of the Peter Paul Development Center (PPDC) is “to support the residents of the East End and educate its students, equipping them to serve as positive contributors to their family and community.” PPDC believes that every child is a product of expectations, not just their environment. Their goal is to ensure that each child develops and utilizes his or her gifts, talents and skills to achieve academic success and self-sufficiency as productive adult citizens. Family engagement opportunities, activities for senior citizens and emergency food services are also major components of our program.
Damon Jiggetts, Executive Director of the Peter Paul Development Center stated “We look forward to partnering with Impact Makers in our efforts to support students and enhance our capacity to serve the East End community. At Peter Paul, we want to move beyond outcomes and set our sights on true and sustained impact in this community. Our approach to community development aligned with Impact Makers’ methodology for partnering in the community is a perfect match. We can’t wait to get started!”
