Matt Curtin Joins Impact Makers as Director, Business Strategy

Matt Curtin

As Director, Business Strategy, Matt works closely with Senior Leaders and Executives to craft creative solutions for business and IT challenges in the Healthcare and Commercial arenas.  Matt joined Impact Makers after being a vocal, albeit unofficial, advocate for the Firm’s mission since meeting CEO and Founder Michael Pirron in 2007.

After experiencing a mountain lifestyle in Vail, Colorado, Matt moved back to his home state of Virginia to pursue a career in Healthcare IT.  He soon landed at the University of Virginia Health System, where he worked in the Perioperative Division, as a Data Analyst.  After working on a clinical system-related project there, Matt quickly recognized the growth in the Healthcare IT space and took a position with Mercer Consulting in Washington, D.C., supporting Payer-side initiatives.  In 2007, Matt capitalized on an opportunity to move to Richmond and work with IT services firm, TEKsystems, in order to help build their Healthcare Provider-side practice.  After 4 years supporting both Commercial and Healthcare Provider organizations in Richmond, Matt accepted a position with a niche Healthcare Consulting firm, Divurgent, where he worked on a national-level through 2012.

Since 2010, Matt has been a board member with the Virginia Chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), the preeminent global Healthcare IT association.  He has held the Sponsorship, and now the Programs Chair, where he oversees a committee of 6 volunteers, who plan and conduct regional HIMSS events.

Matt currently lives in Richmond, VA and supports clients on a national basis. He is a graduate of James Madison University’s Health Systems Administration and Business Management programs.
