Impact Makers is honored to be selected as the inaugural Small Business Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), Central Virginia Chapter. “We are so thankful for the recognition and especially appreciative of the nomination by our community partners,” said Michael I. Pirron, Impact Makers’ Founder and CEO. “It is an honor to receive the first small business award, in a category just launched in 2015, and we hope other small businesses are inspired to give back.”
The award was presented at the National Philanthropy Day celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. National Philanthropy Day is an annual event presented nationwide by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. The Central Virginia regional event is one of the most successful and well attended in the country, with attendance of almost 600.
In her letter of recommendation for the nomination, Jennifer Romero-Greene, MS, PMP, President of FLiPM wrote “Philanthropy is ‘the love of humankind’ and National Philanthropy Day recognizes organizations that have exemplified that love. Impact Makers is that organization.”
