The Impact Makers team is deeply saddened by the loss of our co-worker Carrie Wortham. She was fatally injured yesterday during a bike ride in Hanover County.
“Carrie was a tremendous person and wonderful employee who made a difference with our clients and our community partners. Our company is devastated by this news and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family,” shared Carl Miller, Impact Makers’ President.
Carrie was an amazing young woman. She joined Impact Makers less than two years ago, after graduating from the Virginia Military Institute, where she was a star student and athlete. In the short time that Carrie was part of our team she made a big impact on those she worked alongside, as well as the clients she supported and our community partners. Carrie was a part of projects for several of our large health system clients and she became an essential member of those teams.
Carrie also brought to Impact Makers an intense commitment to helping others. Starting during her high school years at St. Catherine’s, Carrie worked on mission trips to Haiti and eventually joined the board of the Midwives for Haiti program. While at Impact Makers, she furthered our social impact by committing time to our charity partners.
All of us will greatly miss her.
