Impact Makers sponsored the “Innovation in Community” award at RichTech’s 20th annual event on May 13, 2015 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The Innovation in Community Award honors an individual, non-profit or business in central Virginia that displays the most innovative uses of technology to further enrich and advance our community. The 2015 Finalists are Capital one Coders, GE GhostRed Team, Junior Achievement and Senior Navigator.
The winner was Senior Navigator. The organization’s “Caring for the Caregiver Intercollegiate Hack” gathered college students from across Virginia to address the issue of caregiver health and wellness. The Hack challenged students to advance the health and improve the lives of caregivers by creating tech-based tools in a friendly competition.
Rodney Willett, Vice President Business Strategy, introduced the award: “We are particularly pleased to be sponsoring this award because it recognizes organizations supporting the community and that is what we are all about. In fact, we recently gifted the equity ownership of Impact Makers to two community nonprofits.”
