Deidre Tompkins, a Senior Consultant at Impact Makers, was elected President of the ISACA Virginia Chapter. ISACA is a nonprofit, independent association that advocates for professionals involved in information security, assurance, risk management and governance.
The goal of the ISACA Virginia Chapter is to sponsor local educational seminars and workshops, conduct regular chapter meetings, and help to further promote and elevate the visibility of the Information Security audit, control and security profession throughout the region.
Deidre is an Information Technology Management Consultant with more than 20 years of experience across financial services, banking, insurance, healthcare, and government. Her career has focused on program and project management, IT security, risk management, auditing, coaching, and employee development. She has successfully managed and implemented multi-million dollar information systems projects, designed information technology security programs, and managed IT risk assessments. Deidre has managed technology security audits in both public and private sectors, evaluating compliance with regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements as well as internal policy and controls.
Deidre holds a Master of Science in Technology Management from Mercer University and holds CISSP, CISA, PMP, and Six-Sigma professional certifications. She has served on the ISACA Virginia Board of Directors since 2008, and an active member of ISSA and PMI professional organizations. She was the Vice President of the ISACA Virginia chapter for the past year.
