William and Mary’s SEcon – Social Entrepreneurship Conference

Michael Pirron and Rodney Willett represented Impact Makers at the College of William and Mary’s SEcon – Social Entrepreneurship Conference -March 15-17, 2012 at the Mason School of Business in Williamsburg. SEcon featured nationally and internationally recognized thought leaders in social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility who presented their models for businesses and organizations in discussions with attendees from the corporate and academic worlds.

Featured speakers included:

Rod joined Stephanie Nieman from B Lab in a  presentation on legal frameworks that companies may adopt in order to protect and grow their businesses that have a social impact focus.  Rod discussed the Impact Makers business model and also summarized the passage of Virginia’s Benefit Corporation law and the advantages to businesses of adopting that corporate structure.
